Hopefully, Brookline Village's food scene is ready for its close up, because Twitter tells us that Guy Fieri's "Triple-D" is rolling into town.
A few users on Twitter report that Food Network's Guy Fieri is filming a segment for "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" Cutty's on Washington Street today. The rumor first came from BostonTweet by way of Twitter user @LillyJ.
A sign on the door and a Facebook post confirmed that the restaurant is closed today, will be open on Wednesday, and closed again Thursday. Inside, passers-by could see lights and a crowded kitchen, but little of the celebrity or owner.
The Food Network star's show travels around the country as the host explores local flavors. In a typical segment, the chef will show Fieri how one or two of their signature dishes are made, and then cut to diners talking about the dish.
Local sandwich shop Cutty's was one of 11 Brookline businesses to pick up one of 2011's Best of Boston awards, and was named "Best Sandwich Shop." Last year, Endless Simmer also named their Spuckie one of "America's top 10 sandwiches," and the story was picked up on Huffington Post shortly afterward.
Fieri, also an avid car collector, is set to drive the pace car in the Indinanapolis 500 on May 27.
No word yet on when the segment will air.
