Five Things You Need to Know Today: August 14

Five things today, as The Boss plays for a show at Fenway--or make a TV show and check out the Motherland, or see how else Art Matters.

1. 88ºF is the high and 68ºF is the low that the National Weather Service predicts. Aside from that, it should be a mostly sunny day, although there's a chance of showers, about 20 percent, in the evening.

2. If you think art matters, then perhaps you should meet the organization called Art Matters, who is set to visit Boylston Place. Around 2 p.m. this afternoon, head over to EPOCH Assisted Living at Boylston Place, and see their program on Music and Dance.

3. If you have got tickets to the Bruce Springsteen show tonight, you could start it off with the Hot Stove Cool Music VIP Bash. Before the show, starting at 5 p.m., the band is partying on the Right Roof Deck to celebrate. They are taking donations for Foundation to be Named Later. See the website for donation info.

4. Do you have a TV show brewing inside you? You have access to some resources to make this happen. But in order to get on it on the air, you need to start with Brookline Access T.V.'s Orientation class, which starts at 6 p.m. tonight at Brookline High School

5. Brookline Booksmith is bringing the Motherland to you, when author Amy Sohn talks about her book "Motherland." At 7 p.m. tonight, check out her book: several stories exploring the modern marriage--be it on the Cape, Park Slope or Greenwich Village.
