A local bistro is serving up slices of a three-year tradition this afternoon.
The Third Annual Coolidge Corner Pie Contest will be at MJ Ready International Bistro on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Coolidge Corner Arcade building.
Owner Jim Brown told Patch, in an email, that this year's field of competitors is the largest in the three years of the contest. Last year, the competition came down to four entries between two categories. This year's contest has nine, five restaurants or food service businesses and four individuals:
- Restaurants/food service competitors: The Meat House, The Fireplace Restaurant, Clear Flour Bread, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.
- Individuals competitors: Milicent Holder, Cathy Corman, Wendy Swart Grossman and Chris Hugenberger.
At last year's contest, visitors sampled the various pies and voted for their favorites. The winners were declared at the end of the contest.

Donations from the contest will go to benefit the Coolidge Corner Community Chorus.
