A juvenile male has been arrested and charged in connection with two robberies in Brookline near the Boston University campus, which occurred on Sept. 25 and Oct. 5, police said.

According to a statement on the Brookline Police Dept.'s blog, the juvenile was arrested after he, with his lawyer, went to the police station and turned himself in to police on Oct. 10.

The juvenile, who is being held at the police station, is being charged in connection with robberies that occurred on Sept. 25 (St. Paul and Egmont streets) and Oct. 5 (Thatcher Street), the statement said.

A total of four robberies have occurred in recent weeks, and police said Wednesday that the second robbery occurred on Sept. 25 when three black teens wearing hooides showed a handgun and robbed a BU student.

The third robbery, on Oct. 5, occurred when a recent BU graduate was shown a gun and robbed of a cell phone and cash by three black teens, police said. Wednesday, police said they believed the two robberies were connected.

According to the Brookline police blog, police are continuing to investigate the robberies and are seeking two more males believed to be involved.
