Brookline Firefighters Promoted at Selectmen's Meeting

Brookline's Board of Selectmen approved the promotions of four Firefighters following the retirement of Deputy Chief of Operations Michael O'Reilly.

As Deputy Chief of Operations Michael O'Reilly retires, he leaves both big shoes to fill and a vacancy. New Fire Chief Peter Ford requested permission from the Brookline Board of Selectmen to fill those positions.

Ford put forth the following names for promotions: Deputy Chief Robert Ward to Deputy Chief of Operations, Captain Michael Sullivan to Deputy Chief, Lieutenant Kyle McEachern to Fire Captain, and Temporary Lieutenant Todd Cantor to Permanent Fire Lieutenant.

The promotions were approved unanimously. Effective Dec. 12, these men will take their new positions in the department. The date coincides with the beginning of the next scheduling cycle.
