Brookline Arrests: Fight at Party Favors Proves Fondue and Fondant Not the Same

Arrests for Feb. 15 - 20.

A Dorchester woman was arrested at Party Favors in Coolidge Corner last Friday, after an argument regarding the difference between fondant and fondue.

Rakedda Ladawn Bogues, a 21-year-old woman living at 2 Warner St., Dorchester, was arrested at Party Favors in Coolidge Corner around 7 p.m. on Feb. 18 and charged with threatening an employee, assault, malicious damage and disorderly conduct.

Bogues came into the store with questions about cakes and as an employee explained the difference between fondue and fondant, Bogues became annoyed. She leaned over the counter and threatened to kill the employee, accusing her of having an attitude.

The employee asked Bogues to calm down, but she then slung her shopping bag over the counter and knocked over a merchandise display that hit the employee in the chest.

Before leaving the store, Bogues knocked over another display of lollipops. She left before police arrived, but police found Bogues further down Beacon Street.

Party Favor employees confirmed Bogues’ identity and she was arrested by Officer Dana Inchierca.
