Brookline Arrest Log: November 21 - 27

The following information was supplied by Brookline Police Dept. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrest report is based on reports for Nov. 21 through 27. Look for weekday incident reports each Saturday, weekend reports each Monday, and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Tuesday, Nov. 22
  • Shoplifting - Kulya Potistityueyong, 32-year-old Brighton woman was being held by TJ Maxx  store secuurity on Harvard Street, at about 5:15 p.m. Video surveillance depicted her taking a black leather bag and placing it in her duffel bag, then heading into the fitting room. She was also seen taking footwear. Officers believed this was to remove the inventory control tags. Police arrested and charged the woman with shoplifting.
Wednesday, Nov. 23
  • Operating under the influence of alcohol - Frederick Clark, Dedham man aged 38, was leaving a Coolidge Corner restaurant and was pulled over when an officer saw a headlight that wasn't lit. The driver appeared to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested and charged him with driving under the influence and defective equipment, at about 12:15 a.m. 
  • Assault-and-battery - 22-year-old David Rush of Toxteth Street, was arrested and charged with assault-and-battery and malicious damage, at his house before 2 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 24
  • Possession of a class D drug - Omar Compass, a 22-year-old Dorchester man was seen driving in Brookline Village, traveling down Washington Street with his high beams on at around 2:45 a.m. An officer noticed that he did not dim the headlights for oncoming traffic. Police determined that he was driving on a suspended license, then frisked him and discovered a plastic pill container full of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of a class D drug, and a defective equipment violation.
Friday, Nov. 25
  • Armed Robbery - There was an armed robbery on Griggs Road, at around 3 a.m. Two thieves threatened a victim by showing a knife and a gun, according to police. The victim was walking home and was approached by two men, described by police as wearing dark clothes. The victim had several items taken, including an iPhone, but was not injured. The thieves fled on foot. The case is still active. 
  • Open-and-gross lewdness - Eldrick Broom, 27, of Roxbury, was seen by a woman near the Devotion School area, who said he suddenly began urinating on the wall of 369 Harvard Street before 4:30 p.m. Officers report that the woman was shocked by the act, and stopped a mother and child walking toward the man. Officers report that Broom also smelled of alcohol and was becoming belligerent. Because it was "Black Friday" and the man was exposing himself, police arrested and charged him with open-and-gross lewdness and disorderly person.
Saturday, Nov. 26
  • Larceny from a person - Kevin Drayton, 47, of Roxbury and Itora Eaton, 42, of Boston. A caller from the TJ Maxx on Harvard Street reported being the victim of a pickpocketer. She had put her wallet in her boat pocket, and had been able to feel the weight of it. She had seen a man walking in the women's area, and he kept passing her. After the third pass, she couldn't feel the wallet anymore, and reached into her pocket to find it gone. When she confronted the man, later identified as Drayton, he said she was accusing him because he was black and left the store. She took down his license plate number. Police found the car parked on the Fenway, and determined that the driver, Drayton, had a non-renewable license. A pat frisk revealed he had a license and credit card belonging to a victim of a JP Licks larceny earlier this year. Police arrested and charged both with larceny from a person and recovering stolen property, Drayton was also charged with driving without a license. After arresting the pair, police also found the TJ Maxx victim's credit cards, which Eaton had attempted to hid between the seats. 
Sunday, Nov. 27
  • Warrant Arrest - Harry Stefanides, 41, of Brighton. He was arrested and charged on an outstanding warrant after his car was towed for a vehicle arrest. He came into the station to request his car be released, and was taken to the holding cell by officers.
