Pedestrian Struck by Bicyclist on Harvard Street

31-year-old woman taken to hospital.

A 31-year-old Brighton woman was taken to the hospital this morning after she was stuck by a bicyclist near Harvard and Verndale streets.

Sergeant Robert Disario the pedestrian had a apparently just stepped off the curb when she was struck by the 24-year-old bicyclist. An officer working detail observed the accident and contacted dispatchers.

The pedestrian was loaded on to a stretcher shortly after 10 a.m. and taken to the hospital. The bicyclist was not cited and an officer at the scene described the accident as "very minor."

Police originally reported that the bicyclist had been struck by a car.

The collision occurred on Harvard Street about half a block from the Allston border. The street includes bike lanes in both directions.
