Students at Lincoln held a walkathon, part of the school’s “Hope for Haiti” campaign, aimed at raising money while generating awareness of the need that still exists in the nation, which is still recovering from a devastating 2010 earthquake.
This year’s walk, held along side a PTO-sponsored Haitian Cultural Night that featured a rice and beans dinner and visual and performing art displays, netted nearly $13,000.
Lincoln School continues to collect donations for Haiti. Those interested in contributing to Help for Haiti can mail checks, payable to “Lincoln PTO,” to the school, 19 Kennard Road, Brookline, MA 02445.
