Brookline Resident to Participate in the New Balance Heart Break Hill 5K Run and Walk to Benefit Franciscan Hospital for Children.
This Sunday, June 12, Brookline resident Conor Frederick, will be participating in the New Balance Heart Break Hill 5K Run and Walk to benefit Franciscan Hospital for Children.
A former patient of Franciscan Hospital for Children, Conor currently interns in the hospital’s marketing department. After contracting meningo-encephalitis in December of 2004, Connor received rehabilitation treatment at Franciscan where he regained his strength and mobility through several weeks of inpatient and subsequent outpatient therapy.
Team Conor along with staff, friends, families, and patients will take part in the 5K to raise funds for the non-profit pediatric hospital in Brighton. Conor has returned to the hospital to give back those who cared for him just six years ago. Connor and his family’s participation will help the hospital provide patients with the high quality care he once received.
“My family and I participate in the annual 5k Walk/Run because without Franciscan Hospital, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” said Conor. “We try and give back to the hospital as much as we can and encourage others to do the same. The patients at Franciscan need our support and this event is a great way to help.”
